Do not wait; the time will never be ‘just right.’ Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.

-George Herbert

This is the last day of Week #1.  We will introduce some technology today, but be patient, it is going to be a slow roll-out as we get up to speed.  In addition to tech tools, we will look at some chemistry equipment and introduce some number mechanics that help us to represent measurements in the lab.

Objectives

  • Become familiar with tech tools
Learn about some equipment used in the lab
Start using decimal and scientific notation with appropriate measured digits

Agenda

  • Safety Test
  • Microsoft Teams intro
    Equipment Recognition
    Sig Figs & Scientific Notation
  • Week 1 Reflection

Homework

  • Write out a reflection of the first week. Identify all activities that we did, and the purpose behind these activities. Think about how these activities will be relevant to your success in chemistry (or life…) Bring this reflection and your laptop on Monday.
